Meet Our Governors

The governance at Timbertree Academy is made up of our local governing body and United Learnings board of trustees. The local governing body holds three meetings per term which include two sub-committees (resources and curriculum) during the first half of the term and the full governing body during the second half of the term. The minutes from these meetings are then fed into United Learnings board of trustees where group wide decisions and responsibilities are held, which include finance.

Lisa works for a small but influential education arts charity called Craftspace.  Her current role at Craftspace involves mostly marketing, communications and PR for their exhibitions and socially engaged projects but her work there also included finance, operations and project management roles. Craig Cooling

My name is Craig Cooling and for the last 13 years in various capacities I have worked at Ormiston Forge Academy. I am a trained RS Teacher, who led that department and then became Head of Humanities, who then became part of SLT when we became an Academy 5 years ago. I am currently Vice Principal - responsible for Key Stage 5 and teaching and Learning.

 John Tipper

John Tipper is a community governor.

Alicia Baker

Rachel Cooper

Rachel is Vice Chair.

This is my first experience as a parent governor and my children are currently in year 1.  I have worked in secondary education across Sandwell for the last 18 years and currently work in teacher training. My background is in behaviour and special educational needs and I am therefore interested in looking at the offer that the children at Timbertree Academy receive.

Hayley Wycherley

My name is Hayley Wycherley and I am a non-teaching staff Governor. I have worked at Timbertree Academy in the school office since 2010 where I have experience in Personnel, Finance Management, Staff Management and Recruitment. As a staff Governor, I serve as a useful link between our school staff and the governing body. I have also had previous experience as a Governor as my four children attended Timbertree and during that time I was a Parent Governor.

Sarah Sturgeon

My name is Sarah and I am a Mum to two children that attend Timbertree Academy Primary. I currently work as a safeguarding nurse in Sandwell and prior to that was a health visitor. I have had previous experience as a governor and know that it is really important that the views of parents are represented at governor level within the school.
